G. Learning About the Texas Energy Partnership

The Texas Energy Partnership is a partnership of the State Energy Conservation Office (SECO), the U.S. Department of Energy's Rebuild America Program and ENERGY STAR®, a joint program of EPA and DOE. The partnership was formed to help affected jurisdictions take appropriate steps to effectively and efficiently comply with Senate Bill 12 (SB12) and provide access to technical resources.

All political subdivisions located within the 41 non-attainment and affected counties identified in SB5 can participate. The Texas Energy Partnership joins, unifies and expands the existing network of the U.S. Department of Energy's Rebuild America community networks and ENERGY STAR partners in Texas.

Reporting Reminder

SECO’s Texas Energy Partnership Program would like to remind you that Thursday, May 1, 2008, marks the deadline for the fifth cycle of reporting to comply with Health and Safety Code 388.005 (also known as Senate Bill 12 passed by the 80th Legislature).  We thank you if your political subdivision has already reported.  If you have not yet reported, SECO encourages you to report your annual energy usage for the calendar year to comply with this mandate.

If you have installed energy-saving measures which may benefit the State Implementation Plan (SIP) as an emission reductions credit, you are encouraged to report that data.  Please take the time to document your energy savings so that we can report them to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality for possible inclusion in a future SIP revision as an emission reduction credit.

SECO has provided a reporting form that allows you to update, edit and print your annual report. You can download this report from here Once completed please fax your report to fax: (512)475-2569 or email to Stephen.Ross@cpa.state.tx.us.  If your political subdivision wishes to apply for emissions crediting as a part of the State Implementation Plan (SIP), or if you have any questions please contact Stephen Ross or Michael Myers at michael.s.myers@lmco.com
