Biodiesel Hotline
As truckers increasingly demand homegrown biodiesel, a new toll-free number will help them find retail availability anywhere in the United States. The Biodiesel Hotline, (866)-BIODIESEL or (866) 246-3437, is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is available to all drivers of diesel vehicles, including cars and pick-up trucks. Retail pump locations can be found from biodiesel.org, and those that are truck accessible are currently searchable on BioTrucker.com, but for truckers who do not have access to the Internet, the Biodiesel Hotline is the way to go.

Biodiesel Technical Questions & Answers
University of Idaho Biodiesel Education Project answers questions that have been directed to their staff.

Does biodiesel really reduce fuel economy?
According to the the latest U.S. Department of Energy biodiesel guidelines, it does. Pure biodiesel (B100) contains 8% less energy per gallon than typical No. 2 diesel. The difference between these two measurements is caused by the fact that biodiesel is slightly more dense than diesel fuel, so there are slightly more pounds in a gallon of fuel. The difference in energy content can be noticeable if you are using B100, but as the biodiesel blend level is lowered, the differences in energy content become diminished. Very low blends such as B5 do not cause noticeable differences in performance compared to diesel No. 2
