Texas Renewables Potential Map
A DOE Energy Information Administration map, showing locations of various renewable energy resources: wind, biomass, solar, and geothermal. The map covers Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas.
Texas Renewable Energy Resource Assessment This SECO study evaluates Texas renewable energy resources, including solar, wind, biomass, water, geothermal and building climatology. The report includes numerous maps and charts.
Geographic Information System
This site provides dynamically generated maps of renewable energy resources that determine which energy technologies are viable solutions in the United States. The National Renewable Energy Laboratory analyzes the resources and inputs the data into the GIS.
EIA Renewable Energy Maps
A DOE Energy Information Administration site, updated November 2005. The Renewable Energy Map series is the newest series in the Regional Energy Profiles group. Solar, geothermal, and wind energy potentials are presented, and indicators of hydroelectric, biomass, and wood energy potential also are included. In addition, the maps show the geographic location of all renewable energy power plants with a net summer capacity of 1 megawatt or more.
